The Birthplace of European Naturism
The word naturism or nudism suggests different ideas to different people; to some it's a way of life to others it's a summer holiday in the CHM (Centre Hélio Montalivet).
The Centre Hélio Montalivet, is the birthplace of the French naturist movement in 1950, the history of nude beach resorts started here.
The CHM is perfect if you want a naturist holiday in complete security, just to get into the village you have to pass a 120 kg doorman and a computerized log in system, so its ideal for families with small children and crime is practically non-existent. You can just let your kids live their own holiday while you soak up the sun, enjoy a drink at one of the bars or take a tour of the beach.
As for accommodation the choice is up to you, you can either find a pitch in the camping zone for your tent, caravan or camping car where the forest and light sea breezes will keep you cool on the hottest of summer days, or you can rent (or buy) one of the fabulous wooden chalets which have been built throughout the CHM, from where you can pamper yourself to a holiday in connection with nature.
The CHM boasts a surf school, tennis courts, swimming pools, basketball and volleyball courts, archery and lots of artistic and cultural activities, so you will always find something to do throughout your stay. This nudist colony is a complete village with a supermarket, a baker, a butcher, bike rentals, restaurants, bars and much more.
The Naturist camp of Montalivet is found to the south of the village, so don't worry, if naturism is not your « cup of tea » as the village is enclosed by a 8ft wall and nudism is illegal outside the Centre Hélio of Montalivet.
